Traveling While Black in Seattle: Our Journey Through Capitol Hill

Travel Out Seattle is thrilled to introduce you to Anthony and Marlie Love, hosts of YouTube’s Traveling While Black in Seattle. Originally from the St. Louis, MO area, Anthony and Marlie moved to Seattle in 2019. “In the midwest, we know there are some places that black people just don’t go and shouldn’t go. We didn’t know where those places were in the Pacific Northwest (no matter how much we Googled). So, we decided to go out and find out where black people are welcomed up here. In a nutshell, we travel around the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest, and let you know if we feel comfortable as black people visiting for the first time. We also help you out and tell you how the drive was and how much fun we had. Think of this channel as the “Green Book” of the Pacific Northwest.”

GSBA partnered with Traveling While Black in Seattle for what happened to be their “one year anniversary episode”… as they “trek on a journey through Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle.” This episode, Anthony and Marlie ventured along Broadway, visiting Capitol Hill Business Alliance members Olmste(a)d and Optimism Brewing Company, as they followed in the footsteps of local hip-hop legend Sir Mix-a-Lot.  (Sir Mix-A-Lot – Posse On Broadway)
